The NOVALABS cybersecurity Lab is a game that focuses on demonstrating the main concepts of cybersecurity such as coding, password protection, network attacks, encryption, and social engineering. In the game I was a Chief Technology Officer that had to take care of the cybersecurity of a new social media app that had just launched. By being an officer I had to use my basic skills to protect the app.
The NOVA Labs Cybersecurity Lab taught me the basics of keeping digital information safe through five key challenges. I started with coding a robot to understand commands step-by-step. Then, I learned why strong passwords matter and how to spot scams that trick people into giving information. In network security, I saw how businesses need to keep updating their defenses as they grow. I also learned how encryption protects data and why it’s important to find and respond to threats inmediately. These challenges showed me the importance of staying alert and prepared to keep information safe.
